Don't Punish the Innocent

Lisa,

I appreciate your comments and you agreeing with me at least in principle. It is wrong for the Republican Club of Northwest Fairfield County to prevent you or me from voting for a third of the year. Neither you nor I had anything to do with the practices of the other club. Innocent people are being punished by the new club.

The alleged problem with the other organization last October was an issue of no set meeting time and place. It was not a voting issue.

If Mr. Laramee had previously protested that fact that there was no set meeting time and place for the October meeting, then I agree with you he was not responsible in any way shape and form for what happened. If there was no prior protest, then he shares the blame for what happened, in my opinion.
Actions need to be accountable

It's interesting to me that the only Pickerington Republican member you have named that should have any blame is Ed Laramee.

The gentlemen that actually voted on how to spend funds that directly benefited themselves I believe own the lion's share of the accountability you are spreading around.

If the group had chosen to endorse them & they had excused themselves from the vote - I believe it might have been OK - how they chose to present what was sent to the voters made me embarrassed to say that I am Republican & I actually believed I was voting for a democrat but the most qualified person when in fact it was mis-information.

Public Officials should consider themselves Community Role Models. What happened in October is nothing to be proud of or to hold up to our children. I would like to tell my son that this is how to impact a community & how local politics work. I believe I will be proud to tell him just that in a few years.

Public Officials Role Models

Lisa,

I agree 100%. Public officials are community role models.

As a public official, Mr. Laramee embarrassed all Republicans by the manner in which he took issue with what happened or did not happen in October. To imply on a public website monitored by the media that a decision was made in a 'darken hallway' is an insult to all Republicans.

Yes, I hope some day your son will live in a better, more neighborly community.

I am not proud of our Bickerington history. Arrogance sets into our elected officials. We have a very sad history in which our elected officials cannot get along. They insult each other. They sue each other. They circulate petitions to get an issue on the ballot or recall a Council person they don't like. Rarely, do they roll up their sleeves and talk to one another.

Maybe some day our public official will be role models and treat each other with respect.
Where are you standards ??

Do you have the same standards for the members of the Pickerington Republican Club that did hold the meeting & vote to endorse themselves ??

You don't seem very critical of them - I would think the lion's share of the problem resides with the members that had the conflict of interest.
