Palm Grove Tenants Meeting June 3,2009

Number of residents in attendance 14.

The meeting was open with prayer at 6:35 p.m. We talked about the reason for the meeting and why we needed to work together to make our community a better place to live in. We also ask the question what was their role in the complex and Mary Cannon gave her version of what she thought her role was. We had tenants volunteer for the
following things.

Working with the seniors,young adults,teenagers andchildren.

Working with the seniors will be Mary Barkley and Fronie Jones, Mary Cannon with teenagers,Maria Ashley and Raven Robinson childrenalso Wanda White with the teenagers. We had no volunteers for the young Adults. We also have a
new Volunteer Leader in helping us to
get more people interested.We set the next meeting for July 1st at 6:30p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45.

Palm Grove Gardens field trips.

The first field trip that the children went on was in june to city Hall for the national neighborhood week where two of our children recieved Plaques from Onics and different commisioners.we had at least ten volunteers and about 25 or 30 children, I am trying to remember the exact amount. our next field trip was to Callahan neighborhood center for a play that was given by Prodigy and peoples theatre.We had 15 children and 3 volunteers. On August 13th we wre invited to another field trip where we had 14 children and 3 volunteers to Boca Club apartments for a summer showcase : Celebrating Cultural Diversity. the kids seem to enjoy and appreciate, the different types of music and dances,which included authenic Cuban dance,African drumming and American eco-friendly art concepts. We just wanted to thank ONNIC
for everything and now our time is coming real soon.
