When we pulled together.

We formed this group in the fall of 2002. With one main goal in mind.
To restore community pride in our historic area.
We are rich with history in this area and need to call attention to it. The first oil well was near here. The Sue Bland well. Route 66 also in this area. The Railroad also placed a great importance in this area also. To find out more about the history of our area click on the following links below. Fred S. Clinton (pictured here) and his parents Charles and Louisa played a major role in developing this area. Born on a farm in Georgia, Charles Clinton came to Oklahoma as a cowboy. His wife, Louise Atkins Clinton, was a Creek Indian. Born in Texas, she came to Indian Territory at an early age with her parents.
The Rev. Samuel Choecote married Charles and Louise Atkins Clinton on July 27, 1873. They had four children: Fred, Lee, Vera and Paul.
It was Louise Clinton who rode horseback and collected money from the cowboys to build the first church and school in Red Fork, according to historical information provided by the school. For more information visit the West Regional Library.

Restoring Pride

There are many ways we can restore our community.
One way is to clean the area. This will take a while and I hope that you all can bear with us. Last year we had the dumpsters here many times. A big thank you to the city for offering this program. We will have our 1st dumpster here the first week end of April. I will let you know of the location when I get the approval from Mrs. Jeannie McDaniels at the City Department.
