Well, once again it is time to prepare our youth for another school year which means..shopping, lots of shopping. Tax-Free Weekend sales kick off this Friday, Aug. 21-23 in which consumers can purchase clothes, shoes and school supplies without having to pay the 8.25% in sales tax on such items. Preparations are also being made by McAllen ISD for the "Meet the Teacher" night for our area elementary schools which include Garza, Hendricks and Sanchez elementary schools. "Meet the Teacher" night takes place this Friday, August 21st from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Parents and students are encouraged to bring their child's school supplies along to avoid the heavy load on Monday morning when school starts on Aug. 24, 2009. Hope everyone has a pleasant week!
