Pasadena Heights Security Association

Association History

2006 was a watershed year for MobileTechUSA. We purchased a 9,000 sq. ft. building on 3 acres located at 4401 S. Nebraska. Throughout the year, our company was plagued with numerous petty theft problems, stolen gas, tires and our fence was cut several times. On Christmas eve, we lost a $114,000 mechanic service truck.

After interviewing 14 area businesses, Bob Davis determined other businesses in the area were experiencing similar security problems. Several meetings were held and a volunteer organization was set up. The association was formed April 2007. Bylaws and officer elections will be held at our May 3rd, 2007 organizational meeting

HOMELESS/VAGRANT TENT VILLAGE CLEANED UP

Working jointly with Oklahoma City Council, Police and JP Morgan Chase Bank, the tent village was removed May 2nd. A camper, cook stove, couch and tent were removed. Several loads of old truck tires were hauled to the dump and cleanup of the overall site began.

In July, 9 acres of scrub growth was mowed. Additional trash and litter were removed from the site.

In August, members have noticed a significant reduction in vagrants, pan handling and prostitution during the day. Businesses have seen a slight reduction in the areas crime rate.

ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES SECURITY PATROL SERVICES

On August 11th, Laskco, Inc. was placed under contract to provide CLEC certified, Armed Uniformed Patrol services for the area. We are starting to take back the night by pushing the night people off our parking lots and making them go elsewhere with their alcohol and drug street parties.

Individual businesses are now more viligent. Laskco Security is recording license tag numbers, interviewing suspicious individuals, and generally becoming much more visible.

Our sign committee is presently designing a uniform sign which will be placed on members property and fences.
