Zimmerman Community Center, a nonprofit neighborhood-based organization that seeks to connect people living and working in Old Town, Chinatown and the Pearl, for education, reflection and recreation.
The Zimmerman Community Center is located in a storefront in Lovejoy Station. The address is 915 NW Lovejoy. If you walk along Lovejoy you can see the ZCC logo and sign hanging in the window. Stop by to see us.
ZCC is beginning its winter classes the week of January 5, 2004. Due to the snow the office is closed but expects to reopen on Friday, January 9. If you are not on our mailing list and have not received our winter newsletter, send us your address at info@zcommunitycenter.org and/or check out the ZCC website for classes or call for information at 224-4636.
Did you know that ZCC has a public access computer in its lobby? It is free to the public, one hour signups (two hours maximum per day) and not available during class times. Stop by and check it out.
ZCC will continue its community art exhibits in January in partnership with the Emerson School students. It will focus on the Chinese New Year's.

Portland Community College has partnered with the Zimmerman Community Center to offer a variety of classes this winter ranging from the popular Spanish conversation class on Thursday evenings to Life Drawing and a special series on Gay and Lesbian relationships.
PCC classes are affordable and convenient. ZCC and PCC design classes and workshops that respond to the interest and needs of residents, employees and students in the River District community.

It may seem strange to be thinking about a community garden when there is still snow and ice on the ground. Join your neighbors in planning the first community garden in the inner NW area.
Plans call for an innovative urban community garden on NW 16th between Johnson and Kearney in partnership with the Northwest District Association and Pearl District's project to improve the connections between the two neighborhoods.
The ZCC community garden project planning committee meets monthly to organize for a late spring/early summer opening.
