Re: Castlegate
I COMPLETELY agree with you azschaefer (sorry don't know your real name LoL). We had an ARM loan when we first moved in because we had to, but within 6 months we combined our 30 year fixed and ARM into (1) 30 year fixed so we didn't have any problems with that. Yes AZ is also one of the top 5 states for stolen vehicles as well.

Castlegate
We have been here nearly 4 years and have not had any problems. It is sad but true you can't leave things outside any more any where. I'm from the era when you could leave the doors unlocked and the keys in the car in the driveway, but no more.....

HMMMMMM?
I too, live on your street. I have never seen any of the things you have described. My vehicles get left in my driveway every night (however they are locked). As far as the property values and the renters...that is everywhere. We were considering moving back home to Ma. and just went on a trip to check things out. My family is spread all over the state and the market is the same there as it is here. As a matter of fact it is nationwide. That is why the president is on t.v. talking about trying to help people who got in over their heads with ARMs...etc..etc...
I have live all over this country, from coast to coast. This area isn't the best place, but for what we all paid to live here..it is what we should expect.
I would not pinpoint those problems to this community..it is happening EVERYWHERE. Again, this isn't the place for everyone. Sometimes I think I would like to move to Gilbert...nice town..lots of amenities. But we will have all of that soon enough.
As far as the school goes...I think some of your info may be misguided. Our school is rated a Performing Plus School. Not too shabby. Our teachers are not terrible and our district is beginning to adapt some pretty awesome programs. Being a growing community we, as parents, have the opportunity to participate and help it grow. That is, if you want to participate. A child's education is only as good as a parents willingness to be involved. And finally, I like my neighbors. They are all very friendly...and I feel very lucky about that.
Sorry you haven't had the same experience.

Maybe you should cut your losses
Melissa,
Sounds to me like you bought here wanting to make a huge profit on your home, and you held out for more and the bubble popped. As for leaving your personal items inside your car, that is just a big flag for theives saying come get me. Best thing is to put your car INSIDE your garage. Get a storage and move all the junk inside your garage to the storage. Garages here are for cars. Yes the roads need work. You live in a NEW community that boomed and the county does not have the funds to fix/expand all the roads. This will be a great area, once the infrastructure catches up with the growth. If you really think life here is pissing on you, maybe you should just put your house on the market at bottom dollar and take your losses.
