In the early 1980's, Williamsburg Associates and Kastner Investments began selling lots and building homes in what became Pickett's Plantation. In June 1984, former residents Kim and Mike Putnam became our first family and made their home at 3465 Plantation Ridge.
Pickett's Plantation Homeowners Association, Inc was officially formed on April 28, 1986. Protective Covenants specifying land use and architectural control were filed and recorded on July 1, 1985. The first amendment to the Covenants was filed in April 1989.
In 1993, Williamsburg Associates released ownership and maintenance of the common grounds to Pickett's Plantation Homeowners Association, Inc. Since that time the maintenance and improvement of the common grounds has been the responsibility of the homeowner's association. These common grounds are:
- Front entrance area
- Pool
- The field + much of the woods around the pool
- Tennis Courts
- Basketball court
- Ball field area
- Pickett's Lake, co-owned with Pickett's Mill
Sharing two counties, Pickett's Plantation is nestled on the Cobb and Paulding County line. Graced by lots of trees and large lots, the homes are well spaced with a variety of designs and sizes. Amenities are a swimming pool, tennis courts, ball field, basketball court and a 30+ acre lake that offer lots of in-neighborhood fun.
Yes, we have a very good one.
