We are bordered by Broadway to the west, Evans to the south, Downing on the east, and separated from the West & East Washington Park neighborhoods by I-25 to the north.
We consist of nearly 100 city blocks, about 3,000 dwellings, Historic Platt Park, & the Old South Pearl & Old South Broadway business districts. The neighborhood was originally established as the Town of South Denver more than 100 years ago.
Formerly included in the West University Community Association (WUCA) -- the city's largest neighborhood organization -- we have joined together as the Platt Park People's Association (PPPA) to address our specific local needs and to establish priorities tailored to cooperate with our adjacent neighborhoods and within the sometimes-overlapping umbrella of WUCA's interests.
We send our children to 5 schools within the Denver Public School system: Asbury Elementary, McKinley-Thatcher Elementary, Rosedale Elementary, Grant Middle School, & South High School. Some students attend the Denver School of the Arts or another magnet city school campus. In addition, there are a number of local nursery schools and private options, including: the Waldorf School, Montessori, Our Lady of Lourdes, Denver Christian, & Ricks Academy at the University of Denver.
The Platt Park People's Association, a city of Denver Registered Neighborhood Organization, serves nearly 3,000 homes and many of the businesses in the neighborhood bounded by Broadway on the west, Downing on the east, I-25 on the north and Evans on the south. 3PA membership is open to all residents and business owners within these boundaries.
Platt Park People's Association (3PA) meets the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m., at Cameron Church, 1600 S. Pearl St. (corner of Iowa), in the meeting room to the east of the sanctuary
