Hello,

I'm very concerned about this neighborhood. Mostly, Lake Sunset Ct.

We just moved in about a year ago and already encountered many problems. Our house has been robbed and ransacked, a spare tire from my fathers truck has been stolen (to the point we had to load it with chains) and our yard is becoming a common dumping ground for peoples litter.

Is anyone listening to the music in the area? Teens racing up and down the streets, music loud with the bass even louder, tires screaming, are keeping this a problem 24/7. To my knowlege, the law kicks in at 10 p.m. .  We have called the police and the HOA about this problem at least 3 times, and no one has come to respond. (We even have all the plate numbers and types of cars they are. We sent an e-mail telling them. Nothing.) It's becoming to be a big headache. Literally.

Those same kids with the cars, I've wittnessed, have been running over, and have had their dogs killing the baby ducklings. We were coming back from groceries the other day and a teenage girl was chasing the ducks away and had the dog running after them. We yelled for their attention and nothing happened. The ducks haven't done anything to them, why should they be hurting them? With the way this is occuring, I have a feeling there will be less and less fairly soon. We also called the HOA about this too, no responce.

Litter? Since when has our yard become their property too? I was going out for a driving lesson the other day and along came a teenage boy walking straight through our yard. My dad warned him a last warning. To my knowledge, this has been going on for a while too. ALSO called the HOA on this issue, nothing happened.

Fourth of July comes along. I understand this is a time of celebration and family fun, but it doesn't call for people setting off fireworks in the middle of the street. I KNOW there is a law for setting off fireworks in the city, and it's not the fine you want to have. I looked out my window, curious why the sound was so loud and vibrant. It figures that a family was setting off fireworks in front of theirs, and our house. Concerns me, very much. Called the police on this issue, twice. No one responded all night.

I may be a concerned, scared teen, but I feel I should have a voice too. I feel that imediate action should be taken. I'm getting very tired of having nothing done to address these problems. The only answers we're getting is- "They will be moved out by the end of the year."

You don't know how bad it can get by then, honestly.

Very good post! I know exactly who and what you are talking about.  It seems to me that we as residents may need to take a pro-active roll in this issue.  I am not talking about vigilantes but more people need to complain.  Power by numbers.  The HOA is not active in these matters because they are not here everyday.  We are.  People cannot be afraid to say something to these troublemakers.  When we moved here Towne Lake was a hidden treasure.  Now we have so many renters that some of them (not all) just don't care enough about their surroundings to keep up their yards or respect the rules of the subdivision.  We need to make the owners of these rental homes more accountable for their renters.  This neighborhood is going down hill.  The only reason we have not moved yet is because we are hoping things will get better and quite frankly it is a tough time to make a move financially.  I hope that more people will get involved in policing this this neighborhood.  I don't think that we need to question everyone that comes through the gates but we do need to take care of each other.  Let's get this neighborhood back on track.

What's the address so we can all keep an eye out?

Has the owner of the home been contacted about the problems his/her renters have been causing? I don't know anything about getting people evicted, but is there any way to do that?

This is so sad. I used to feel so safe in our neighborhood...

I believe it's 3610 Lake Sunset ct.

It's very noticable with the troubling teens down there around all hours of the day and night, the loud music, and I know there are 2 Firebirds down there. One is always there, it's red and has a white decal on the back window. It parks ajacent to the house they rent in.
