Since you have been doing corrections - let's look at that statement - perhaps it would sound better like this?

You do understand that the people you are asking to give this pledge, ARE the people that voted this congress into office?

To answer your question - original or revised -yes, I know that many persons have voted some beans-in-their-ears, blinders wearing politians into office, based on their promises of looking out for 'us'. They are not looking out for us and are happy to have the support of the party and feel confident they can lie and flim-flam the voters to vote them into office again. Get rid of the bums! I am definately in favor of term limits.
