WHERE IS PRESTON WOODS?

Preston Woods is located in southernmost Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is 2 miles south of the Creek Turnpike and just over a mile from Memorial Drive. The main entrance to Preston Woods is on 111th Street near Sheridan Road. There are currently three other entrances adjoining three other neighborhoods.

DEMOGRAPHICS

Preston Woods consists of 59 single-family residences. We are a small neighborhood in comparison to some of the other neighborhoods in the surrounding area. There is one north-south street which connects 3 cul-de-sacs and 1 other street. We maintain one common area at the main entrance at Hudson Avenue and 111th Street. The common area consists of a two-sided brick wall sign, landscaped areas, a faux gate/guard house, accent lighting, and a privacy fence along Hudson Ave. and 111th Street. Preston Woods is not a gated community and is therefore serviced by the local school bus system.

ABOUT OUR ASSOCIATION
 

HISTORY & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Preston Woods Homeowners' Association was formed in 2001 when Rick Dodson, Preston Woods developer, handed control of the Association to the property owners in Preston Woods. As required by the By-laws, the residents elected 5 members to their first Board of Directors. The Board decided that Homeowners' Association assessments/dues will be collected on an annual basis. The Association is financially responsible for maintaining all of the common grounds at the main entrance. 
The annual meeting of the Preston Woods Homeowners' Association is held each October/November. An audit of the Association's books is performed annually by two resident members-at-large. Your Association is also responsible for long-term planning for capital improvement expenditures and for maintenance/repair expenses.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS and OFFICERS

The original By-laws provided for a Board of Directors consisting of 5 members. In 2004 the By-laws were changed to provide for an additional member on the Board of Directors, resulting in a Board made up of 5 or 6 members. Each member serves staggered 3-year terms so that only 2 Board members' terms expire each year. New Board members are elected by the Preston Woods property owners. Every year the Board assigns its members to each of the Officer positions. These positions include President, Vice-President, Correspondence Secretary, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, and an At-large Member. A Board member may serve all 3 years in one Officer position, or he/she may serve in several different Officer positions during his/her 3-year term.

3) Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale (Spring: last weekend in March with rain date first weekend in April)
4) Neighborhood Block Party (Spring: April and Fall: October)
6) Annual Homeowners' Meeting (November)
