Creek, Marsh, Tidal Sound Familiar?

Not all rivers are created equal. Jacksonville is vast and has many water features such as the St. Johns River and the Trout River among others plus the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. RIVERVIEW or RIVERHILLS PARK is counted along with many neighborhoods in the Jacksonville region defined by water and explains why many people migrate and remain here.

While more modern homes are juxtaposed on homesites to take advantage of waterfront views, early postwar homes were simply built and proximity to the river was reward enough.

Present homeowners are environmentally sensitive and deeply appreciate the increased eco-friendly temperament in the community. Manatee often frequent the neighbors' docks and stretch to enjoy the occasional human touch. While not as frequent, dolphin have been sighted in Trout River near Lem Turner Boulevard and the C. Ray Greene Bridge.

Change is Coming

Bounded on the north by the Nassau County line extending to the Trout River on the south, the North Jacksonville area has experienced tremendous growth in the past decade. A large part of this growth is due to opening of the Dames Point Bridge, expansion of Jacksonville International Airport, increased cargo traffic through the Jacksonville port and new business moving into the Imeson Business Park. The wave of the future residential and industrial growth will be felt and seen on the north banks for the St.Johns River and beyond.

In addition to access to plenty of waterways for boating and fishing, the area features the Jacksonville Zoological Gardens, one of Jacksonville's most popular attractions; Huguenot Memorial Park; Little Talbot Island State Park, and the Anheuser-Busch brewery. Some of Jacksonville's wonderful (and somewhat secret) seafood eateries can be found along the Trout River. Shopping centers, restaurants, medical facilities, schools, churches and much more are located conveniently nearby.

Trout River Bridge Replacement

The Trout River Bridge is a four lane segmental bridge carrying Interstate 95 across Trout River, 5 miles north of Downtown Jacksonville, Florida. It is the third crossing of I-95 south of Georgia. The construction of the Trout River Bridge is situated on I-95 in a heavy traffic area between downtown and the airport. This project involves widening one major bridge, three overpasses (from 4 to 6 lanes), rehabilitating the pavement, constructing retaining walls, and proactively addressing environmental concerns (wetlands, manatees, and permit compliance).

Riverview Transformation Continues

Our community residents are on the right path to revitalization of this desirable urban region conveniently located near I-95, I-10 and I-295/9A. Positioned inside the "beltway" and bordering key waterways, RIVERVIEW is postured for a thriving economic boom as people realize the value of existing waterfront properties and the development market continues to flourish. The Trout River waterway is eye-candy to those seeking affordable waterfront properties with little to obstruct the breathtaking views.

Northwest - District 5 CPAC

The Sheriff's Advisory Councils (ShAdCo) are a notable example of police-citizen partnerships. RIVERVIEW community members provide JSO with feedback on law enforcement issues, report suspected criminal activity and traffic problems in their sector and promote a safe, secure and involved community. ShAdCo meetings are open to the public.

Because Planning District and JSO Zone boundaries do not coincide, please call the substation nearest you to determine which ShAdCo serves your RIVERVIEW, RIVERHILLS PARK neighborhood. Information on the location of ShAdCo meetings can also be obtained from your substation. Call 384-8028.
