I am the property owner of the 2 houses on N. Blvd. and Ohio that everyone seems to be chatting about. I have lived in the neighborhood my entire life and will always live in this neighborhood. This is home to me, but I have learned that it is impossible to make a Home on a busy arterial road. N. Blvd. has been blighted for years and the only structures that are well kept and appealling on this road are the professional offices. My only intention for purchasing these properties were to rehab them and convert one of them to my office for my legal service business and sell one to another professional that could operate his or her small practice out of. These types of offices generate very little traffic due to scheduled appointments and employees are gone by 5:00. They provide much needed lighting along N. Blvd. and enhance the overall appearance. I take a lot of pride in my neighborhood and just want to see it reach its full potential, as evidenced by the extensive remodeling i have done to fix what was an extremely blighted structure. For some reason, nobody seems to mention that in there dialogue. These structures along N. Blvd. have been blighted for long enough and will continue to be if something isn't done. There is no interest from anyone when it comes to purchasing these structures as a home. I had only one individual that was interested in renting the house at 3602 N. Blvd. to live in. Unfortunately, it was learned that he was a convicted sexual predator and that was the last thing I want in our neighborhood,so I turned him away. I think a professional person with a professional office would make a much better neighbor. These structures have been blighted for long enough and will continue to be as long as they are residences. They will continue to be rentals and no money will ever be invested in them by the owners because they would never see a return. Professionals such as attorneys, doctors & cpa's have the financial backing to rehab these homes and convert them to small, low density offices and continue to maintain them. I never intended to make so called ''enemies'' with anyone and really don't think of anyone as an enemy. I am just trying to do what i feel would be a vast improvement for the entire neighborhood. This whole re-zoning process was new to me, and I apologize if some feel that I didn't take all of the proper steps. I am not a developer or investor that is looking to turn a profit, I'm just a lifelong resident of the neighborhood that would like to see an improvement to this blighted corridor that is the entrance to our neighborhood. So please, stop thinking of me as your enemy(because i'm not) and try to think of me and treat me as your neighbor. P.S. As soon as I heard there were problems w/ the realtors signs I called the realtor and asked that she remove them.
