TREASURERS REPORT
In the Treasurers absence Lisa Lindell reported that three more residents have paid (yippee) bringing the General Account to $7,340.96. The Dock Account has $7,813.72 with 100% paid. Four people still owe (and you know who you are!) please pay this amount ASAP. Riviera depends on these funds to pay our bills; without your cooperation we cannot stay current with our expenses.
DOCK REPORT
Steve Lindell mentioned the upriver steps are in dire need of being secured. Several of the steps are loose & in danger of falling. One dock owner has already fallen & gotten a bad cut on his leg. We are hoping to have someone with a portable welder repair these steps.
FYI: We have had several inquiries from folks wanting to rent a boat slip. The Riverfront By-Laws & House Rules state that slips can only be rented to full-time residents of Riviera who own the boat docked there. If you are renting or thinking of renting your slip to someone, the boat using the slip must be owned by a full-time resident of Riviera. If the boat owner does not live in Riviera the boat cannot be docked here.
NEW BUSINESS
COYOTE: One of our residents said they spotted a mix-breed coyote at Stonebridge Rd & Blankenbaker Ln. Please make sure you keep an eye on your pets when they are outside. Also, warn your children not to pet strange ?“dogs.?”
RENTAL HOUSE ON E. RIVERSIDE: The house at 916 E. Riverside is still in need of being cleaned-up, etc. The renters have moved & left items outside, including a portable basketball goal that is partially in the street. We have contacted the home owner, Joe Fairleigh, & informed him of the issues regarding this house. He assured our President that he would take care of cleaning the yard & mowing the grass. (NOTE: 7/18/07 the clean-up was completed)
STREET LIGHT: Linda Patton spoke with LG&E regarding the street light. They assured her it was on the list to be installed.
PARKING AT THE ISLAND: If you want to park your car at the entrance island on River Road while you are on the docks please only do so if there is no other car parked there. When two, or more, cars are at the entrance it makes it impossible to turn into Riviera. If another car is already parked there please park your car elsewhere (preferably, your driveway).
PAVING: Linda Patton talked with Public Works who told her Rivera is on the ?“approval list to be considered?” according to the 2008 budget. Hopefully, when the paving is done, it will be after all the construction is completed & we no longer have fully loaded concrete trucks drive our roads & through neighbors yards!
RIVER FIELDS GUEST:: Beth Jones talked with Planning & Zoning & found out that the R5 designation means that only one housing unit can be built per lot. MSD told her that any lot sold must be large enough to support a septic system. This information could have an impact on any lots not on sewers that are currently for sale Ms. Jones is gathering information from FEMA regarding the Flood Way versus Flood Plain building restrictions.
AUGUST BOARD GUEST: A representative from the Library will be at our August meeting.
PROCEDURE FOR NEW BUSINESS: If someone has business to discuss at a Board Meeting it will be necessary for them to call the Secretary no later than one week prior to the meeting date. This will enable the Board Members to familiarize themselves with the issue to be addressed.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:16 pm.
