Car Break-In

Hi,
I wanted to alert everyone about a car break-in on Hayne Road (closer to Park) last Friday evening. A friend of mine parked his SUV in front of my home. During a 4 hr. period, someone managed to bust out his drivers side window and steal his Ipod. The worst part is that this all took place while we were outside having a cook-out.
My friend called the police, but was told it wasn't a serious enough crime to send out an officer to make a report. (This means the crime statistics we see on the news every evening are even worse than we know since most of them do are not even reported by the police.)
These criminals have no fear will stop at nothing. Please report any crimes or sitings of suspicious individuals to your neighbors. Awareness can be our neighborhoods best defense.

Car Break Ins

This is an unfortunate event, but all the same I'd have to ask if the i-pod was in plain view. What the police say is true - ''stow it, don't show it''.

I don't feel so safe

As for drunk drivers you are not safe from them anywhere. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, races and income brackets and the same goes for their victims.

I agree with you regarding the trash. We have people who drive through our neighborhood on the main streets and hurl their trash out the car window. Too bad we can't track them down, wait for them to leave their car and stuff all the trash back in.
