From the desk of founder of "Stop The Violence Now," Minister J.L. Smith.

When this organized effort to develop community project to fight against gun violence began, I had little money to contribute. Working as a Security Officer, and hoping to retire in four years, I will continue to give what I can afford to help this very important community endeavor.

Some of our needs and goals are to lease an office, purchase a computer and office furniture, and hire a Secretary/Receptionist/File Clerk. We need file cabinets, a copy machine, fax machine, etc. As soon as possible we need two vans that will cruise at night looking for juveniles running the streets, providing transportation home for them, and for the parents out looking for them. Our goal is to report child prositution and activity and other forms of violence. We aslo desire to provide food and clothing for needy families and to initiate counseling referral services. We need sponsors for radio and Tv advertisement, etc.

This organization cn only exist by donations and financial support by the community. Currently we have opened a business accoun in the of " Stop The Violence Now," at PNC Bank. Any Wishing to make contributions may do so by sending a check or money order made payable to "Stop The Violence Now."
