SAVE GUANELLA PASS

TO: COMMISSIONERS OF PARK AND CLEAR CREEK COUNTIES AND THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION

Regarding the Guanella Pass Road Project, we the undersigned strongly oppose all of the FHWA construction alternatives including alternative 6. The only acceptable alternative must consist of the following items. The original road area must remain in its current footprint. No heavy construction, blasting, or construction materials hauling will be permitted up either side of the pass. The project must only focus on repairing existing surface type and fixing drainage and erosion problems. Any project must only be classified as a rehabilitation project. Finally, any damage to private property owners in both Park County and Clear Creek County must be compensated by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
