from the giant federally funded multi-year construction project. Help keep big government out of our local decisions! Destroying local recreational areas in the name of progress is destroying one of the few precious resources benefiting citizens of Park County.
This is the last stand. The Federal Highway Administration has finally issued its Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement in which they offer Alternative 6, which to most all of us is nothing more than a slight modification of the prior proposals. It would still mean massive construction and destruction, and enormous waste of our tax dollars.
We seek your help! Please plan to attend one of the following meetings and voice your opposition:
Monday, December 4 in Bailey at the Crow Hill Fire Station--
open house 5:30-6:45, formal session 7:00-9:00 pm
Tuesday, December 5 in Georgetown at the Community Center--
open house 7:00-7:30 pm, formal session 7:30-9:00 pm
Wednesday, December 6 in Lakewood, FHWA office 555 Zang St.
3rd floor conference room (off frontage road southwest of 6th Ave. and
Union Blvd.), open house 5:30-6:45, formal session 7:00-9:00 pm
Thursday, December 7 in Georgetown at the Community Center,
open house 5:30-6:45, formal session 7:00-9:00 pm
Also, we would appreciate very much your help with our petition. Copies are enclosed. Please get all the signatures possible and return to us by January 16th. This is extremely important and your help will not be forgotten. We think it will make the difference.
Sincerely,
Megan and Scott Dugan
