No dice with Sprint or Ricochet
I've spoken directly to a Sprint Tech and unfortunately we're approx. 1 mile out of range. As with most co's I've spoken with, they say they're working on having service, SOON. Seems nobody is willing to commit on dates. Typical!
Another company ''soon'' to offer service in the area is Ricochet www.ricochet.com Ricochet touts 128 kbps mobile wireless service.

Willing to pay
I would be willing to pay $60/month as long as the contract did not last for more than one year (if there was a contract).
My husband, Will (some of you know him as Bill or Happy Bill), has experience installing such a network and could probably offer assistance.
We actually signed up for ADSL for our home last summer through a now extinct company and when they installed it, it turned out to be ISDN. So, be very careful with some of these start up companies. They continued to bill us even after they blantently lied to us - but of course, we didn't pay them a penny.

New Sprint Tower, June or July
I too have been seeking a faster connection and don't want to pay through the nose. In a conversation with a senior level technician they revealed that our area should have a new antenna in the very near future late June or July. Until I see it, I won't beleive it, of course. There is some hope though.

Adesta may not be dead!
I spoke with Adesta again today.
Apparently it is the construction cost that has set them back. They ran out of money. I'm trying to get in touch with the person in charge of this issue.
We may be able to help, either by
subsidizing the cost, finding investment
money, or something along those lines.
Anyhow...I'll keep you all posted.
