Just beneath the majestic Flatirons mountain peaks and blocks away from hiking trails, Shanahan Ridge is best characterized by it's "wild neighbors". Deer, prairie dogs, golden eagles, perigrine falcons, occasional mountain lions, racoons, red-tail hawks, kestrils, and many more prairie/mountain fauna move in and around the nearby city open space.

A fourth generation working ranch lies just below the Ridge and is named after it's owners, the Shanahan Family. This neighborhood and much of the city mountain park and adjacent city open space was once part of the much larger ranch.

Residents include a mix of families, retirees, grad students, and single professionals. Nearby schools include Fairview High School and Mesa Elementary School.

Outstanding public bus service, "The Skip" (offered through Regional Transportation District RTD-Denver), serves the neighborhood with a high frequency schedule.

About our association

Shanahan Ridge Neighbors is an informal group of residents from Telluride and Smuggler streets on Boulder's south side. The group fosters good neighboring through several annual gatherings and a quarterly newsletter.

The complex of townhomes also has a "homeowner association" (Shanahan Ridge 5) which handles the business building owners. The Shanahan Ridge Neighbors welcomes all residents whether they are owners or not.
