I received the following information from the county today. The South Side Community, for purposes of this community plan, starts at the entrance to Sundance and Sundance Trails at 301 and Lightfoot and runs west to the bay and from the Manatee County line north to the Little Manatee River. What happens in this planning process area is extremely important to the Sundance and Sundance Trails communities.
You are invited to join us to help guide the future of your community. The Hillsborough County Planning Commission invites you to participate in the first of a series of public meetings and workshops to develop a community plan for the South Side area. We want to hear your ideas on how a community plan can make a positive impact on the South Side community.
The first open house will be held at the South County Career Center, 2810 John Sherman Way, Ruskin, 33570, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2008. The Career Center is east of Hwy 41 just north of Sundance Growers.
The purpose of this open house is to encourage citizen participation in the planning process and identify at least 20-30 volunteers to serve on an Advisory Committee to guide the development of the South Side Community Plan; identify the major issues and concerns facing the future of the South Side Community; provide handouts of the description of the roles and responsibilities of the Advisory Committee and outline the planning process.
