Website participation

Posted in: W Point Towne Center
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I have been visiting this website since it began. I also partipated in the discussions on the ezboard website. I did not agree with everything that was said on that website, nor do I agree with everything on this website. That being said, the ezboard website, had something this one does not. PARTICIPATION.

It seems, that we are now being watched and judged on what OPINIONS we choose to share. Isn't the idea to use this as a sounding board?

My other complaint about this website is the time it takes to do anything. I have a very fast computer, but just to get into this website takes longer than just about any other site I visit.

The time has come to create our own website, that we can use the way we want, not how a few indivduals feel it needs to be used.

Happy New Year to you, too!

I'd be interested in checking out the ezboard website; if you'd pass along the link, I'd appreciate it.

Although I've been disappointed with the participation with this site, too, the numbers of hits we get is more encouraging every month. We have been using this site as a gauge to measure participation of neighbors.

I'm not sure I know what you meant in your second paragraph, but yes, this site is to be used as a sounding board for questions and concerns, as well as other community news. Being ''watched and judged'' on opinions shared here is what I didn't understand. Everybody is encouraged to voice their opinions.

No postings will be removed from this site unless for vulgar and/or threatening words. This is a family site, and we want to keep it that way.

Once we see the participation we expect, we can proceed to the westpointresidents.com website if approved by the board. As of now, neighborhood link is still in its beginning stages, but will be brought up at the next board meeting for further review of its speed and effectiveness.

Thanks for the comments,

Mark
re: Website participation

Not everyone moved to WP to become community activists and participate on this website or any other funstion that may be held. Some simply moved here to buy a home and live a life. These people just don't care what anyone has to say as long as you let them be. Seems everyone with a opinion is being judged but that is life. more so that is life here at WP. I have sold my home and moved out of WP. The homes were cracker boxes and ugly and the community.. nuff said. The only good people at WP were the ones that kept to themselves and didn't bother anyone. I don't know what you people are thinking with all the politics involved in WP. It is like living in another world. Everyone seems to have a ego and pulls power trips. Golf carts? How stupid is that? These people are allowed to remain in power? Why should anyone have any power at all? Do you really need more then some joe blow driving around in his car checking out complaints and typing letters then maybe giving out fines? There is a whole system in place in WP to screw you and take your dues. Your paying them to police you and fine you and create more rules. Check around other places and you will see the HOA's if any are half the price and have standard rules and don't break balls. Good luck to all you quiet WP residents. You will need it with all these noise / law makers running your show. I just want to take a minute to say bye to some of you good people out there in WP that I got to meet and just want to be left out of the big WP loop. Also bye to everyone on the board if you like me or not this is my last post.. well unless you get smart with me i may have to respond when i have nothing better to do.
