After our precious pet was sprayed by a skunk I placed a game camera in our yard. Skunks showed up on the photos and on one, there were two skunks meaning babies will be imminent. Repositioning the camera to the base of the bird feeders in the neighbors yard photos show the skunks eating at the base of the bird feeders. Be forewarned this spring when your own pet may gets sprayed after the kits are born you will not be very happy. Under the fence which borders our back yard I pounded edging into the ground hoping to keep the skunks from entering the yard. Thus far, I have not seen any in my yard nor attempts to dig under the fence any more. In speaking with the humane society they encourage repellants or less bird feeding.
Educating small children and keeping your pets supervised and restrained from wandering with spare you the horrible fate of our pet and the resulting stench that lasted over a week in our home.
So those of you that are feeding birds in your yard you may have Skunks livingA under decks or in colverts.
