The BASIC City Youth Project is a non-profit organization that offers educational, athletic, community service and performing arts clubs for youth ages 6 to 21. Our program operates every year from September to June and is the most fun that any kid can have!
We are a club that teaches current high school SOPHOMORES and JUNIORS how to create jobs for themselves using their natural talents and abilities. TBC members are engaged in many social activities, including fundraising events, black-tie affairs, retreats, movie nights and parties; but, we are not all play and no work. We have to take youth development workshops that will teach us how to not only make ourselves more marketable in the job field, but also how to create and operate our own businesses. If we successfully pass the course, we will be hired by BASIC and will be paid to work on Saturdays working with little kids! It's the most fun that any teen can have that is profitable too!
The following clubs are currently part of the BASIC CITY YOUTH PROJECT: Basketball, cheerleading, stepping, modeling, dance, drama, drum corp., TBC and Honor Scouts. The following clubs will be part of the program starting this summer: basketball, doubledutch, track, cheerleading, stepping, dance, drum corp, drama, visual arts, honor scouts, TBC, Kappa Psi Delta and more! We go to talent shows, competitions, parades and other exciting events all year round and when we graduate from the program in June, we win gifts, trophies and other awards.
