?“To promote positive family practices within the North Jacksonville community that will empower families with social, educational and financial skills to survive the changes taking place within our society.?”
1. Juvenile delinquency permeates North Jacksonville in part due to a lack of parent, child and family skills. Discipline is non-existent.
2. Children of high drug use parents are highly likely to repeat the cycle and behaviors, and therefore have no real chance for a productive life.
3. There is a strong dependence upon public assistance which causes a lack of initiative to obtain the skills to be self sufficient.
4. Our young people are being taught and shown negative values and habits that prevent them from making good choices.
5. There is a desperate need to break the repetitive cycle of generations who lack the financial skills to manage their money.
1. Reduce significant statistics that measure the impact of juvenile delinquency in North Jacksonville by 25% within one year from the official TFoC launch date.
2. Become a valued resource to the Duval County school board by September 2008 as a place to refer the parents and families of known juvenile delinquents.
3. Identify or develop and launch a TFoC program that is specifically designed to teach new skills to the children of parents with drug addictions by September 2007.
4. Identify five families that are no longer on public assistance as a direct result of the TFoC within one year from the official launch date.
5. Implement a NoJaM Program (North Jax Mentors) within TFoC designed to provide male role models for young boys from families without a live-in father by September 2007.
6. Identify or develop and launch a TFoC program that effectively teaches low income families essential financial, money management skills by September 2008.
