I spoke to Lee Polk today & there will be no meeting in October. The next meeting has been set for November 20th at 9am. She mentioned that it will be a short meeting solely to approve the 2010 budget which will be mailed out to the residents 2 weeks before. I mentioned that this is not a convenient time since most of the residents work. She stated that since the developer still controls the HOA, there is not much that can be done about that. She did mention that they might do a workshop at a more convenient time. She has also obtained the police report for the crash & will be filing a claim with the driver's insurance for the crash at Oakwood.

It's a good thing and a bad thing that the developer controls the HOA. The bad things obviously is that we have no say when the meetings are and they are always at times when non of us can attend. The people that are on the board that the developer placed there are from out of town so that's why the times are always during work hours.

The good thing that the developer still controls the HOA is that they pay the HOA fees on all those undeveloped land plots. If they didn't do this we would loose at least one of our pools, brighthouse deal, along with other things we pay for. There are tons of homeowners not paying their HOA fees so we have a pretty large debt in that area.

The only way we can control the board, I mean the homeowners, is if we owned 60% of more of the land...which at this point we don't.

I think it's ridiculous that there will be no meeting other than that one in November to discuss the budget. I want to discuss how much we pay Green Acre for an inadequate job. F.Y.I their contract is up in March. That is when they will look to get rehired which I will be against.

What should we do as homeowners? Can we set up meeting with Ms. Polk and get additional info about the contractors that Green Acre is using in our development.

I totally agree with you,  I will be against of rehired Green Acre. They are not doing a good job.
