The Hammocks

Community playground?

Posted in: The Hammocks

Hi All,

Like many of you we too are a growing family and wanted to get a feel for how many of you would be interested in investing in a community playground?

I know many of you feel that the developer should be responsible for this, as do I, however we all know that it wont happen and I feel that as a homeowner we need to take control where we can. I am aware that we would need approval from the association, but I believe that it is a feasible request as it really isn't an obstruction like a fencing off our "backyards" Smile.

That being said, below is a link of possible options for a small to medium size playground.

i have two 5 year olds and would LOVE a place for them to play!  i do think however that we would need to get a more commercial style playgroup similar to those at parks which will of course cost more, but because many kids will be using and abusing it, will last longer and look nicer.  If enough people are interested maybe we could all chip in to pay for it or do a fundraiser.  JR - did you know we have a facebook page?  just search for "The Hammocks at New Tampa"  Smile

Definetly, a commercial playground is indeed the way to go. I spoke with Lee yesterday and I am going to wait to get some more feedback from the community before putting the request through.

It would have to go to vote at the next board members meeting, but atleast we can put it on the table if we have enough community support.
