West Nile Virus is spread by mosquito bites and can cause serious illness in

?• Use insect repellent with DEET, Picaridan, or Oil of Lemon
Eucalyptus when outside between dusk and dawn ?• Wear long pants and long sleeves ?• Keep windows and doors closed
?• Repair window and door screens
?• Use mosquito larvicide; available from home improvement stores ?• Clean up your yard
?• Dump standing water (flower pots, toys, buckets, old tires, garbage
cans)

Mosquito abatement actions include: community education, eliminating standing water, larvicide (tablets placed into pools or wet spots), adulticide (fogging with pesticide).
