The Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a youth program for youn Americans between the ages of 11 - 17, whose objectives are to develop an interest and skill in basic seamanship and in its naval adaptations, to train them in seagoing skills and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance and kindred virtures. Cadets train aboard ships and shor activities of the Navy and Coast Gurad, and are authorized by the Secretary of the Navy to wear Navy uniforms appropriately marked with Naval Sea Cadet Corps insignia.
