"Why do I keep getting pestered by the Virginia Park Neighborhood Association when I live in Maryland Manor?" The Virginia Park Neighborhood Association is a group of concerned neighbors who have united to address the issues which affect our area of the City, some 2,100 homes, in an attempt to improve our overall quality of life. The boundaries established for this association are roughly Palmira to Euclid and Manhattan to Himes. Virginia Park, Virginia Terrace, Maryland Manor, Bel-Mar and a few others are all residential subdivisions contained within this larger Association area. Separate Associations for each of these areas could have been created, however, based on similarities in demographics, neighborhood character, the proximity of these subdivisions and concerns of their residents, coupled with the increased influence of a larger Association, having one Association to represent all of these subdivisions was deemed most sensible. Of course subsections of this area may form to focus on more localized concerns like crime watch, traffic issues, social events and the like, however the Association will always be available to provide assistance and resources to accomplish these goals. So please don't get fixated on the name, the purpose of the Association is the improve the neighborhood for us all.
