The MISSION of the West Hills Neighborhood Council

The WEST HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL was organized and elected for the principal purpose of representing and promoting the interests of those who live, work, study, pray, and play within the boundaries of West Hills.

The COUNCIL is made up of 25 volunteer Board of Directors elected by West Hills stakeholders, and serve for a term of two years. COUNCIL activities consist of holding regularly scheduled public meetings, the dissemination of relevant information, making recommendations to stakeholders and officials of the City of Los Angeles, taking action with regard to the improvement and planning of the community of West Hills, and facilitating the delivery of City services and City government responses to the problems and requests of the Stakeholders within.

The COUNCIL was the first San Fernando Valley Neighborhood Council certified by the Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment as part of the city’s initiative to provide a greater voice and influence to local communities throughout the City of Los Angeles.

Officers of the WHNC

The West Hills Neighborhood Council (WHNC) was formed on October 3, 2001 by overwhelming approval of the Stakeholders during the formation meeting. A Board of Directors was elected consisting of 25 Board Members.

Treasurer - Leo B. Zaslov
Controller - Bobbi Trantafello
Secretary - Leslie Bashaar

Streets & Transportation: Donna Stephensen
Public Safety: Porter Thomason
Communications: Jeffrey Stordahl
