CANA Yahoo site

Posted in: Colonial Acres

I built a Yahoo site for CANA a while back but I didn't receive any response from Managment.

The site is very easy to use and I think much better than this site.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

It has a special notice function where emergency notices can go out.

The Members have the ability to receive each email or set to digest according to your needs.

It will hold files, form, photos, Etc.

I already run a couple of Yahoo sites so I'm very familiar with the format.

Respectfully,

Bill Dickerson

Bill,

That's great and much appreciated.  However, can you give us the link to the site?

It's really a great idea.  I, too, had inquired about doing that to David, who had the large e-mail ring that notified us of the crime, etc. in the area, but had heard that maybe somebody was working on one, too, as I had already set one up to be ready.  Maybe you were the one already working on it.

Anyway, if you could pass along the link, we would all appreciate it.  I hope tons of folks from the neighborhood go to the link and utilize it.  We need that kind of resource in our 'hood.

Thanks,

Larry

CANA has created a similar crime email alert on google site some time ago.  We were anticipating using this for Yawn's list.  This was not implemented.  Yawn is working on replacement for his list (not sure of specifics or go-live date).

We are going to implement the google list for crime and code issues.  Basically, as a Colonial Acres replacement for Yawn's list.  Whether known or not,  some of the suspect and vehicle information posted on Yawns list was forwarded to the Police Dept, resulting in investigations & arrests.  This communication tool is vital for our group.

Bill, sorry, but thanks for your work on the Yahoo site, after our review the board feels the google site will be the best fit for CANA.

Will advise on our go-live date.  Users will be able to use their existing email id.  Users will have option to get each email, digest form or no email, go online to view the posts.  The system is very similar to the Yahoo site.

This site is and will remain the official Colonial Acres Neighborhood Association website.....www.colonialacres.org.

I think most people had rather have David Yawn running it, as it would be organized and maintained.

Of course, anybody can start any board that they want to at any time without anyone's permission.
