Our association has many functions:
1- To promote good community relations and an atmosphere of mutual cooperation within our residences and in cooperation with the laws and ordinances of the City of Columbus.
2- To provide resources for the management, maintenance and care of the common property and common areas of Western Creek Subdivision.
3- To promote community activities that include the residents of Western Creek and members of the Homeowner's Associaton.
4- To collect dues and keep records.
5- To maintain a library of information for the mutual benefit of the residents.
6- To establish and maintain a resolution process for conflicts.
First definition: A Homeowner's Associaton is a nonprofit association that manages the common areas of a planned unit development (PUD) or condominium project. In a planned unit development comes with many potential benefits such as cheaper homes, cheaper taxes, large open spaces and recreational areas or lots, neighborhood community activities and ability for residents to come together and make decisions regarding common areas of subdivision.
Second definition: An association of people who own homes in a given area, formed for the purpose of improving or maintaining the quality of the area.
Third definition: A group that governs a subdivision, condominium or planned community. The association collects monthly fees from all owners to pay for common area maintenance, handle legal and safety issues and enforce the covenants, conditions, and restrictions set by the developer.
A PUD (Planned Unit Development) such as Whisper Creek is a type of ownership where individuals actually own the building or unit they live in, but common areas are owned jointly with the other members of the development or association. With some PUD's, homeowners may individually own the property and airspace of his or her unit, but the recreational buildings and common areas are owned jointly with the others in the development or association.
