You are invited to an open house to review the proposed revisions to the golf cottages planning area within the Whisper Rock community and the related City approval process. The open house will be held at the Whisper Rock Tortuga Caretaker’s House at 7999 E. Whisper Rock Trail on Friday, December 20, 2002 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Whisper Rock’s existing zoning provides for golf club member cottages, up to a maximum of 50, sensitively sited on a maximum of 10 acres of R-4R within the golf course area. Many neighbors have previously reviewed and supported this proposal, and it has not changed; neither the 10 acre R-4R area nor the 50 unit maximum are proposed to change. However, the City has recommended an amended application to add the PCD (Planned Community District) zoning overlay to the cottages planning area for more effective management and siting of the cottages from an administrative standpoint.

The acreage of the existing zoning does not change. The proposed PCD overlay to the existing zoning encompasses approximately 232 acres.
