Let's all do our part to clean up our community.
Your neighbors do not want to look at your trash. If you are replacing your carpet, make arrangements with your installer to haul the old carpet away, or put it out after 6 p.m. Sunday night so it gets picked up on Monday.
The city is in this area on Tuesday to pick up old appliances. If you replace your appliances, call the city for pick-up first, and then put the appliances at the curb the night before appointed pick-up.
What about your back yard? Just because it can't be seen from the street doesn't mean it can't be seen. It may be a mess your neighbor has to look at every day. So clean it up. Remember, that trash could be a breeding place for rodents, inscets, and diseases, is a violation of City Ordinance, and therefore subject to a citation. If the City cites you, and you still don't clean it up, the City will clean it up and bill you for the cost of clean-up.
City Ordinane only permits you to have ten (10) yard sales a year, not one every week. If you violate teh Ordinance and are reported, you will be cited by the city that could cause you a heavy fine.
Don't litter. Encourage your children not to discard trash and papers at the bus stop or along the way home.
Maybe we need a "Clean up and Beautify Whispering Pines Day" as a way to get the community involved.
