Seven acres of land in White Oak Hills has been purchased by DeKalb County for Greenspace. This means that the land cannot be developed on, and will be cared for by the county for our enjoyment.
The land is bordered by Memorial Drive, Line Strees and Dusty Lane. Currently the land is a bit of an eyesore due to Kudzu and littering, but in the next year the county will clear the kudzu and by the fall should begin work to establish a walking path and perhaps some picnic tables.
White Oak Hills Neighborhood Association is hoping to team up with Hands on Atlanta volunteers to make this our big project of the year.
Hands on Atlanta Day will be in October.
We will be teaming with Hands on Atlanta on October 2, 2004 from 9 to 1 working on our Greenspace! We will be cleaning the areas around the greenspace to beautify the whole area.
