Wildwood Homeowners Association

FROM THE WILDWOOD HOMEOWNERS PRESIDENT - APRIL 2001

May 11, 2001

From the President:

On Tuesday, February 27, 2001, Lloyd Jones and I attended the Mayor?’s Quarterly Homeowners Association Representatives Meeting. This meeting gives all Homeowners Associations in Desoto an opportunity to come together and meet with the Mayor and other city officials. The Mayor opened the meeting and answered questions on the upcoming city election, Economic Development for Desoto, Youth Programs, street repairs, etc, etc. This was the last Homeowners Meeting for Mayor Richard Rozier as he is not eligible to seek reelection. Next Pat Baugh, Managing Director of Development Services, covered the City?’s Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Also David Duckworth and O?’Faira Carter from the Keep Desoto Beautiful Corporation covered a Storm Draining Decal Project that will be launched in the next few months. David will be present at our March 24th, 2001 homeowners meeting to cover this project in more detail.

I attended a Town Hall Meeting on March 1, 2001 at the Desoto Town Center. The purpose was to have a public discussion of Suggested Projects for the City?’s Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and Operating Budget 2002 & 2003. This meeting is a public forum that promotes citizen input. Your voice does make a difference when it come to deciding what will be the major projects that are undertaken in Desoto for the next five years. All of the work on Polk Street came out of this process.

Again we are asking for your support as we continue our work to keep this association moving forward. With all the work going on we are assured that our neighborhood will be one of the best in Desoto. With the projects that are scheduled for 2001 we urgently need your financial support now!!!

Please step up and pay your annual homeowners dues of $120.00. You can mail it to The Wildwood Homeowners Association, P.O. Box 1121, Desoto, TX 75123 or contact Wayne Valentine at 972-230-7051 and I will personally pick it up. This is an investment in your neighborhood and it will be returned.
