We have several community events coming up in the next few months. First we will have our Annual G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizonans Involved in Neighborhoods) Party on Saturday Oct. 26, 2002. Plans are tenative at this point, but we are working on a BBQ/potluck, games, prize drawings and hopefully a repeat of last year's goodie bags. We'll need lots of volunteers and participants for this event, but we expect it to be our best community event to date.
Each year we close the entrances to Windsor Shadows off to outside traffic. This keeps our children safe and helps alleviate vandalism.
We are in need of volunteers from 6pm - 8pm. If you'd like to help out and work a 1/2 hour or 1 hour shift please consider volunteering. Residents without children are extra appreciated, allowing parents to supervise their children's activities.
Watch for upcoming newsletters and flyers for more info.
Windsor Shadows has two Community Garage Sales per year, spring and fall. Garage sales are not permitted at any other time. This helps keep our neighborhood streets safe and helps alleviate theft and vandalism.
Community sales do very well, drawing more traffic than an individual sale. Windsor Shadows pays for a newspaper ad, puts up a banner one week prior to the sale and places signs on the corners.
Clean Sweep dumpsters will be scheduled sometime in the fall, preferably after the garage sale.
*More info. to come in future newsletters, flyers and on bulletin boards.
Windsor Shadows is a unique community of 163 Cape Cod style homes established in 1987. Our 300+ trees give Windsor Shadows its shady yards and tree lines streets.
We have an active Architectural Committee that works very hard to keep Windsor Shadows looking as fresh, clean and well kept as possible.
We hold several community events such as Safe Streets for Trick or Treats!, Community Garage Sales twice a year, Clean Sweep dumpsters twice a year as well. We also hold a big party in October to celebrate our participation in the Police Department's GAIN night. This is the biggest and funnest event of the year! We're always looking for good ideas and volunteers, give us a call!
Volunteers are ALWAYS needed in any area. Some of the ways an owner can volunteer is:
*Write articles for the newsletter
*Help hand deliver newsletters and notices
*join the Architectural Committee
*join the Landscaping Committee
*Join the Blockwatch Captain's Crew
*Help with suggestions for Blockwatch events
*Take a shift at the entrances on Halloween Night
*Garage Sale planning - signs, ad, flyers on doors
Any amount of time you would like to donate is greatly appreciated, large or small. If each home could do just one of the activities listed above, we could do so much more! We continue to see more and more owners getting involved after each event we have and we'd like to see this trend continue!
