WHO WE ARE
Woman-to-Woman, Inc., is a service-oriented organization of the Macedonia Community Development Corporation, Flushing, New York, which promotes outreach programs in the areas of health, economics and education.
WHAT ARE WE DOING
-
1. Initiated focus groups with local high schools;
2. Organized seminar with youth and law enforcement leaders: ''Law & Order and Our Children'';
3. Ongoing Tutorial and Homework Assistance program for grades 1 thru 8;
4. Intergenerational Creative Arts program which educates through its hands-on quilting program, arts & crafts projects, visits to museums and art galleries;
5. ''The Circle'' a bereavement Support group;
6. Community Health Fairs;
7. Workshop on foster care and adoption;
8. Workshops especially for Seniors on health care and other wellness issues;
9. Seminar on Medicaid Benefits for families in need;
10. Seminar on Responsible Investing;
11. Seminar on computer literacy.
12. Rites of Passage Mentorship Program: provides mentorship to girls of our community culminating in the celebration of their transition from adolescence to womanhood; promote and nurture positive character and behavior that exemplifies Christian values, an appreciation for our cultural heritage, community involvement, high moral standards and self-esteem.
13. Education2Employment, provides assistance in job search, internship & grant information, resume writing and job interview presentation.
14. Sponsored NACA Homebuyers Workshop informing community members of the opportunities and benefits of home ownership.

WOMAN-TO-WOMAN, INC. celebrates 15 years of service to the community on Sunday. March 17, 2013, 9:45 a.m. at the Macedonia A.M.E. Church, 37-22 Union Street, Flushing. In addition, Women's History Month will be commemorated. All are invited to attend.
