Women's Overseas Service League

The Women's Overseas Service League is the only national patriotic organization for All Women who have served beyond the borders of their nations with the Armed Forces of the United States of America or of her allies. W.O.S.L. was founded in 1921 by the American women who had served overseas with the military forces during World War I.

Purpose of W.O.S.L

Keep alive and develop the spirit that promoted overseas service.


Maintain the ties born of that service, and assist and further any patriotic work.


Promote a sense of individual obligation to community, state and nation.


Work for the welfare of the armed services.


Assist in any way in our power the men and women who served and were wounded or incapacitated in the service of their country.


Foster and promote friendship and understanding between the United States and all other nations of the world.
