Personal Information

I was born on January 16, 1972 in Lafayette, Louisiana. After graduating from Catholic High School, I went on to the University of Southwestern Louisiana and became a member of Phi Mu sorority. I thrived with my social life, but not in school. Two years of playing, I left college and joined the United States Army as an Intelligence Specialist and Morse Code operator. In the Army I met my fiance of seven years. When we both finished our tour, we decided to hike the Appalachian Trail as far as our bodies and money would take us. We started in Georgia (extremely rough trails and weather) and ended our journey in North Carolina.

After the trail, we both went back to school in Tampa, Florida. Wayne graduated in December 1997 and we moved to his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. I finally graduated in May 2000. February 2001, we bought our first (and last)home in the Highlands.

Military Information

I completed my eight weeks of basic training in South Carolina August 1992. From there, I flew to Fort Devens, MA for AIT in Morse Code and graduated in 1993. After taking a short vacation, I left for Camp Humphreys, Korea where I lived for a year. I made the best of Korean tour, learning the language, mountain repelling in Chejado (a.k.a. Asia's Hawaii), befriending Korean civilians, and shopping. I had a wonderful time and made some of the best friends I ever had. I left Korea in 1994 and headed back to the United States for Fort Stewart, Georgia. This was a challegening place for me to be! I cross-trained on almost every piece of equipment the sciff had, learned to set up the sciff in the field (swamp), passed all physical training requirements with high scores, and was deployed to Egypt for four months.

I have many stories to tell from just four years of service. Too much to write in this short space. My tour was the best thing to happen to me. I learned how strong of a person I am, how lucky I am to be an American and not to take advantage of that, how awesome my family is, seeing places I probably would not have seen, and I met Wayne.

WOSL

Being a member of WOSL has been an awesome experience. I am the youngest of the group and to hear the stories of the other members is quite fascinating. I will always cherish the time we have together.
