The Past

Doris and Walter Wilson moved into the home at 5220 S. Concord Street in 1949. They had eight children: Lisa, Jean, Sheila, Susan, Chip, Paul, Doug and Becki. The three oldest children attended Southport High School, and the remaining children attended Perry Meridian High School. Chip was a member of PMHS's first four year graduating class.
Walter Wilson passed away in 1992, and Susan passed away in 1996.

The Present

All of the remaining Wilson children have moved away, to start their own families and homes with the exception of Becki. Becki purchased the home from her Mother after renovations were required in 1993, and they lived there together until 2001, when Becki married Jon Cook and he joined the household at 5220 S. Concord Street.
A fire caused severe damage in 1992, and for nearly 9 months, the family had to move into an apartment while the entire house was refurbished. The family moved back home in March, 1993.

The Future

While everyone is concerned about I-69 and the impacts that it will have on our home value and our way of life, we are determined to fight when we can, and continue living our lives day by day. We continue to do updates on the house, and intend to do some extensive work on the yard, hoping to bring some beauty back to the lawn as well.
