Speed humps effectiveness???

Posted in: Bellemeade - Bellemeade

reba, that guy is really a piece of work isn't he.  I agree with you that paying taxes does not qualify anyone for anything except a refund if the pay too much (I think that applies only to income tax.)  What his taxes do is to pay for the street he is speeding on, the police officers who uphold the law to include speeding and reckless driving, the court where he can pay his fine, and all kinds of other government services.  I can't believe he was crude enough to talk to you like that.   I got his license number; I'll pass it on to a friend who can get some heat put on his ***.  We also ought to take up a collection of pennies and give him a refund on the amount of taxes he pays on the street (notice I said pennies.)  I can't believe anyone could be that crude; some people just don't have any class.   Or maybe I could just go back to being a witch and put a spell on him.

By the way, I hope you all realize that I was not making fun of you.  I applaud your efforts.  I was totally shocked to see 5 of you out theire in the freezing weather for as long as you were  I kinda felt guilty sitting in my warm SUV.. I had to move when I saw Larry coming toward me because I want to remain incognito.  It is more fun that way;  kinda like a ghost writer maybe?  I'll have to admit I have been moved by the spirit about these ignorant, selfish drivers endangering other people.  Lead feet, if you want to drive like a NASCAR wannabe, put a number on it and go up to Sparta and swap paint with the pros.

Let's get more folks in this effort.  As they say on Law and Order or some place, "Let's take back out streets."

I was the one that wrote the initial post about speeders and I do not care who knows who I am, the simple fact of the matter is this; speeders are speeders no matter where they live but to blantenly "fly" down a residential street that you know has several children that live there is just a deep cause for alarm to the well being among everyone that lives in this neighborhood, is that speeder trying to kill someone, extremly late for the most important meeting in his/her life or just seeking a death warrant, or trip to LMDC. If I see someone flying in front of my house I will take the plate # to work with me and turn that person in and go out to that car and confront that individual personally as to why they were going so fast. There is one piticular individual that lives on dorchester that routinly flys up and down our streets and I have already warned the fella in the grey truck once. Why cant we have 2 more speed "humps" on N. Chadwick, it would help out so much.

God bless you!!!  Thanks for stirring this up.  I didn't know how bad it is until I saw for myself.  Come on neighbors, join the fight!  Take back our streets.  Don't let these idiots disrespect our neighborhood and the law.

A friend suggested getting people to park on the street in a pattern that would create one-lane traffic.  But, I  do not know if I would put my SUV in that kind of peril. I saw these jokers in action - speeding and on the cell phone totally unaware of what they were doing.- DANGEROUS!!  VERY DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!  Let's just keep up the drum beat until government assumes its responsibilities here by adding more humps, more police presence, or both.  Hello Larry- Hello Bellemeade City Commission -  Hello Jon Ackerson - Hello Metro.
