Dear Disheartened,

I had somehow missed your comeback until this morning.  What do you not get about Freedom of Speech?  You are STILL trying to dictate how to utilize that freedom.  Very simply put, you are totally out of line!  Ways?  Surely you jest!  Each of us is free to demand information from our elected officials if necessary - PERIOD!  Freedom of Speech is unconditional with two exceptions (that should keep you bust looking that up if you are truly objective, NOT!).

The reason there is not more input from residents is because larryl and the commissioners do not listen unless we attend their performance aka meeting and because they do what the h--- they want to do:  case in point; Beautification Ordinance, lack of law enforcement, refusing to dialogue with residents except one hour a month, dictatorial assignment of responsibilites on the Commission, and more.

This archaic lack of transparency in our Little Tree City government has got to go and if it takes demands, sarcasm, insolence, yelling, blistering posts, knashing of teeth, wailing, petitions, rebellion, or whatever means within the law to do it, so be it.  This spending tax money on private property even for the public good has got to go because the term "public good" is subject to interpretation and larryl and the Commission use their own definition as it  needs to be regardless of public outcry.  This snail-paced response to real problems has got to go!  This "checking on it" response to legitimate resident concerns has got to go!  Three of these Commissioners and larryl have got to go!  Posts attempting to limit Freedom of Speech can stay because even as out of line as you are, you have the right to say it.  You just do not have the right to tell me what I can and can not do.  Thank you.

Let's hope the posting of the Proposed Budget even though it took a LOT of demands (even sarcasm) and countering numerous weak excuses IS the beginning of a more receptive and transparent Bellemeade City Government.  Kitty, I notice that many of your posts draw a lot of response, but I see that my post thanking the mayor and the Commission (KUDOS to the mayor ......) drew way fewer comments.  So much for the contention that nice comments reap more resident respnse.

And, as far as that statement about attacking someone for stating their opinion, were you at the recent Commission meeting when I was subjected to harsh, sarcastic, unkind cross examination by two of the commissioners because of  my insistence that something be done about the speeding problem on my street?  Tell me about couching comments in a positive manner ...  I refuse to accept the fact that I have to put up with DANGEROUS DRIVERS on MY street!  And Kitty, I agree with you there; whatever it takes to get the powers that be to recoginzie that there is a problem and then get them to fix it IS my right.
