City of Bellemeade

I have seen the same Bellemeade residents and passers-thru run the new stop signs over and over without even slowing down.  I was concerned along with Reba that the signs were not going to work because they require enforcement, so I have made it a point to visit the intersection often in my vehicle and on foot.  The people on that street deserve better!

larryl and the commissioners have wasted $1000.00 on an EXPERIMENT!  They refused to even consider one speed hunp to slow down the reckless drivers coming off Shelbyville Road, but yet they spent half the cost of a speed hump on an ineffective 4-way stop.  To make that worse, I understand that Metro Councilman could have used some discretionary funds to help pay for the hump (correct me if I am wrong on that).

Mayor, why did you think the stop signs would work?  What's the REAL story?

Speaking as someone who lives on the street, right next to the stop signs, the last week has seen great improvement in compliance with the stop signs. I think there may be less overall traffic as well.

Of course, it will never reach 100% compliance.

I am much better at stopping at the new stop signs.  I am stopping 95% of the time now versus 50% a few weeks ago!

Same here. I blew by the signs the first couple of times through. I don't think they really do anything positive but I'm sure they thought about it long and hard before putting them there. There's a reason for everything, right?
