Castlegate Community

Hi there, We have now lived in Castlegate for 6 months. We have met some nice people but no one I could ask for a cup of sugar from.  I (as the wife) was thinking of different group functions once a month. Ex. wine night, beer and cheese get together, anyone get me.  It doesnt need to be alcohol. Sometimes that just helps unfamilar situations.  If anyone has other ideas or suggestions. ( or maybe there already is some kind of "club") Please let me know!! Thank you 

I don't really have any ideas, and personally find those types of get togethers hard as I have a child, but just wanted to say I agree.  We had a neighbor (literally right next door as a matter of fact) at our old place that if we ran out of milk or she ran out of juice or whatever we could ask for a cup and return it or not later and we took the kids out to play together a few times a week, watched each other's kids once in awhile so the other could run to the store or go to a doctor's appointment, sat outside and chatted in the evenings/afternoons while the kids played, etc.  It was nice to have someone like that and very close, and I agree that I miss that around here.  My neighbors rent on one side and have been here for over a year now and yet I've only seen them a handful of times, my attempts at drumming up a conversation have been squashed, I have no neighbors on the other side just a vacant house, so I agree that meeting neighbors literally on my street would be very nice.

Even if we  needed to do kid stuff! I have a 3yr and 1 yr old!  Just throwing it out there!!!

I wish we knew our neighbors better also. Our next door neighbors just moved away, but it didn't matter because we only got to know their kids (always supported their school fundraisers). We finally got to know the people across from us and they moved about 8 months ago! Our other neighbor lady is really sweet but not near our age group so I don't think there will be any "hanging out" with her. I just recently got interested in the block watch for our neighborhood, so I don't know if they do monthly get-togethers where it could also be a social thing. We did that growing up. Anyways, great idea!
