If we have a CRIMINAL INCIDENT in our city, and the Metro. Police are called and a REPORT  is taken, please call our Chief of Police at 439-6545 or you can call me and give me the information and I will pass it on to the Chief.

We need the Incident Number, the Victim's name and the address where the event occurred, so that we can get a copy of the report, talk to the victim, and correspond with other Police agencies.

Many times the Incident Report is not viewed by Detectives or Investigators until it is assigned to them.  As I said earlier a Sergeant in the 5th District knew nothing of this incident, that is not saying it did not happen.  A Detective with Saint Matthews Police had no knowledge of any criminal incident that occurred on Washburn in the last several days.

Before we start posting these incidents let the Chief of Police know or any of the other Council Members/Blockwatch Captains so that we can post any criminal incidents in our city.

I apologize if I upset anyone today, and I hope the young victim of this incident is doing better.  I am grateful that we have neighbors who care and look out for each other

Ok I am sorry I started this ,This is twice today I have been advised about something I wrote.I was told what the man might have  looked like .I was only worried about the kids in the neighbhood.

I really do apologize.  I did not mean to belittle the information you were giving about "WATCH OUR KIDS". That information if EXTREMELY important and needed to be posted so people and children can be aware.  I was simply trying to point out that the eyes were the only thing that was remembered.

Again, I'm sorry if I offended you or distressed you. You did the right thing in posting this very important information.

Just curious please don't jump on me but why is it "our" responsibility to report incidents to the police chief and the city council members.  Can the "Chief" not access this data (METRO) base regularly and then pass the info along.   If there is a crime in woodlawn park i'm hoping that METRO is called first and our chief can maybe be notified if there is time.

It seems a waist of time to have a victim call the chief and give him report numbers i would just think he can get a fax / email / phone call /  stating this is what happened in our city while he was or wasn't on duty.

Just my 2 cents.

Unfortunately Metro doesn't have a good system for relaying information other than looking it up when the Chief calls them.
