eyes wide shut

.yadda.yadda.yadda.that is the problem...alot of talk. We have lived here for over 10 years, and our eyes were fully open when we purchased our home, the problem seems to be with the surronding neighbors who have never opened their eyes, or even their front door and windows. Neighborhoods have to change and grow with the community, or they get left behiend. Historic Kenwood has as much potential as Hyde Park, but some of the residents might be better off in a trailer park!!
Changing People

I don't think you can change people. I think you can only exchange people. People are what they are. You can only convince them, or force them to a point. Hopefully, the growing property values will convince them to sell at some point and we'll get new neighbors.

any ideas?

hey Bill...now you are talking my language!!The idea of waiting out the neighbors who don't really care where they live is a great way of thinking. Personally, I feel like we should start taking a collection at the monthly meetings and the funds could go to purchase the homes that seem to be at issue..ha ha ha....like that would ever work...so, we will just sit here for another 10 years and wait for the grass to be cut, the truck to get washed and emptied, and maybe, just maybe, the ole place accross the street will finally be a happy Kenwood homestead like we all keep praying, and calling codes, and sweeping gutters, and replanting corners, and so it goes.....
reality

If you face reality, it won't upset you so much.
