The next important public event concerning the future of La Grange is a DNREC, PARKS & RECREATION, Public Hearing on Resource Areas Maps and Natural Areas Maps that will take place on Monday, May 1, 2006, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm at the DNREC, Richardson and Robbins Auditorium, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, Delaware. The official announcement is at: http://www.dnrec.state.de.us/DNREC2000/Admin/Press/PublicNotices/PNDetail.asp?NOVID=1877
The SRA and NA maps are posted on the DNREC website at: http://www.dnrec.delaware.gov/GI/GISRAMaps.htm.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold a Public Workshop in each county and a Public Hearing in Dover for proposed State Resource Areas (SRA) and Natural Areas (NA) maps in accordance with 7 Del. Code Chapters 73 and 75. The purpose is to solicit input on proposed natural resource land maps. Based on this input the Open Space Council and Natural Areas Advisory Council will recommend final maps to the Department Secretary. The Department Secretary may adopt the maps and provide copies to each county for inclusion in their Comprehensive Land Use Plans.
This is about a process of putting ''natural areas'' and ''resource areas'' on official state maps that will (hopefully) force Delaware's three county governments to protect them somewhat.
ACTION:
People who want to support land protection but can't go to the hearing may send comments to Charles ''Ron'' Vickers at e-mail: charles.vickers@state.de.us
